You are Liked
“He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.”
Psalm 18:19
"I love you, but right now I don't like you." Have you ever heard this said? Perhaps the words were unspoken, but present in someone's actions. This can really sting, because who doesn't want to be liked? I've heard many sermons and devotionals talk about "fear of man," and how we shouldn't worry about what others think of us. Good advice, but it warrants some good news:
God doesn't just love you. As a bonus - He likes you! The Bible says He delights in those who fear Him. He created you and placed you on this earth for a purpose, and He loves nothing more than spending time with you. One of my favorite places this occurs in the Bible is Psalm 18:19 - "He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me."
If you've received harsh words this week, or had a social interaction that felt "off" and is still bugging you, remember as you move forward in your human relationships: by God, you are not only loved - you are liked!
