How Great Thou Art
By Drew Lindow This past weekend, we had the opportunity to attend the Snowboarders and Skiers for Christ conference at Mt. Hood. Getting to experience the grandeur of the mountain and surrounding area was certainly a highlight! Massive snow covered trees, rays of sun filtering through the clouds and the occasional glimpse of the glacial peak above us. Everything spoke so profoundly without uttering a word!
At one point I stopped in the middle of a run to pause and take it all in. I was filled with gratitude as I reflected on what a gift it was to participate in such a scene and to know that God Himself who created and sustains it all, knows me and cares deeply for me. It's a simple and familiar truth, but I never tire of moments like these that awaken my soul to the greatest reality- God's love for me in Christ.
Psalm 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God
