Underfoot of the Father

Psalm 27:4 ESV - "One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple."

I run a sourdough bakery out of my kitchen and some days my husband can organize his schedule to be home when I'm baking and other days not. So naturally, my kids had congregated in the kitchen this particular Friday to play while I baked.

It can be easy to feel frustrated that my kids are frequrntly under foot. I could get frustrated that they are in my way, and I'm definitely not innocent of doing so.

Are my kids really trying to be in my way? Maybe sometimes, but really they just want to be where mommy is.

You and I were created for relationship. Created by a Loving Heavenly Father who desires a relationship with us and in whom all our desires are met. My children are only reflecting how they were created to function - in relationship.

The same way my children sit at my feet and play is the same kind of relationship God wants with us, and the same kind of relationship we were designed to have. Living continuously at His feet, just desiring closeness with Him wherever we are.
